Who gets to access psilocybin, and at what cost? That question ran through this month's meeting. Guest speaker Blake Andrews, an MSW student at the University of Michigan who was active in Colorado's psychedelic community, broke down the real differences between Colorado and Michigan: a thriving gifting culture, healing centers most people can't afford, and a federal push that could hand these substances to corporations. His message was clear. Decriminalization has to stay at the center, and the people doing this work need a seat at the table.
We also covered our political outreach, including a recent meeting with Rep. Jack Bergman, and two new studies, one on estrogen and psilocybin with implications for women's dosing, and a striking Alzheimer's case report. We wrapped with updates on our criminalization-history video essay, an upcoming harm reduction comic, and the political outreach survey now available on our website.
