At our last community meeting, we talked through the 12/16 Jackson City Council vote: how to show support, how to participate remotely, and what this moment could mean for Michigan’s growing movement.
And of course, we spent time celebrating the big news: Jackson voted 4–2 to decriminalize.
What folks in Jackson have worked tirelessly for just became reality. Jackson is now Michigan’s sixth city to embrace plant medicine reform, joining Ann Arbor, Detroit, Hazel Park, Ferndale, and Ypsilanti.
This is what grassroots organizing looks like. Every phone call, every public comment, and every person who showed up helped make this possible. A huge congratulations to everyone who played a part.
