The 6th Annual Entheofest will be held on the University of Michigan Diag on Sunday, September 20, 2026, honoring Mother Earth's sacred plant medicines and marking six years since the City of Ann Arbor voted to decriminalize entheogenic plants and fungi.

Entheofest is brought to you by the University of Michigan's Students Association for Psychedelic Studies (SAPS): bringing activism, art, music and education to a free-speech event that mobilizes and motivates decriminalization throughout the state of Michigan.

In September 2020, Ann Arbor City Council unanimously passed a resolution decriminalizing entheogenic plants and fungi. Ann Arbor was the fourth city in the United States and the first in Michigan to do so. That same year, Council designated September as Entheogenic Plant and Fungi Awareness Month. Washtenaw County followed in 2021 with a countywide policy declining to prosecute the use and possession of these substances. This year the festival lands on September 20, which is also recognized as Global Mushroom Day.

The Entheofest speaker program begins at 11:00 a.m. and closes at 2:00 p.m. Panel discussions follow indoors at the Michigan League, steps from the Diag, taking up the future of decriminalization in Michigan and the practice of harm reduction.

The Entheofest Planning Committee is honored to welcome author Abbie Rosner as this year's keynote speaker. Rosner is one of the few writers covering psychedelic use among older adults.

The weekend opens the evening of Saturday, September 19, at Crazy Wisdom Bookstore, where Rosner signs her new book, Psychedelics and the Counterculture of Aging.

Entheofest is a celebration of our plant teachers and of the progress being made toward decriminalization. We kindly ask that it not be approached as a space for consumption or commerce, and that attendees remain mindful of University space and of the people around them.
